Jillian Rocco is one of the newest additions to our sales team, joining as our regional sales manager for Orange County, Long Beach, The Inland Empire, and San Diego. Over the past 14 years, Jillian has worked as a project manager for residential and architectural projects throughout Southern California, and as a sales manager for a Swiss acoustic manufacturer.

Given how much experience she brings to the Autex Acoustics® team, we sat down with Jillian to learn what makes her really tick.

What interests you about the acoustics industry?

Sound and music have always been an integral part of my life. I love going to concerts and I appreciate venues with top notch acoustics.  Besides that, I love learning everything about acoustics, how it impacts our day-to-day lives, and how to help clients solve their acoustical issues.

What are your five California essentials?

1) Outdoor concerts

My absolute favorite venues to see live shows are: The Shell in San Diego (brand new and looks like a seashell, the acoustics are terrific), the Hollywood Bowl in LA, and the Greek Theater in San Francisco. I’ve been fortunate enough to see many great bands perform live at all these venues.

2) The beach and ocean

Moving from MN in my early 20’s I craved the ocean and I can’t get enough of it. It brings a sense of calm and peace. We love going as a family as much as we can and taking the duffy boat out on the bay.

3) Road trips

Living in San Diego is unique in that there are so many fun adventures that are within 2 hours driving or flying.  We love exploring as a family and can’t wait for my daughters to get a little older so we can start hiking and exploring more of this beautiful part of the country.

4) Tacos, craft beer, and wine

San Diego is home to over 150 Craft Breweries and endless amounts of tacos.  No explanation needed! Just south of the border is the “Napa Valley” of Mexico, Valle de Guadalupe (just north east of Ensenada) and we enjoy going down for a night or two to indulge in fine wine and amazing Baja Mediterranean cuisine.

5) Yoga and pilates

It’s hard not to live an active lifestyle living in San Diego.  Whenever I have a chance I love going to a yoga class on Sunset Cliffs, in Balboa Park or at my favorite neighborhood studio.  I’ve more recently gotten into Sound Baths and Meditation.
