Working for a business as they venture into new markets provides a unique experience for those present early on. That is the position that Jeremy Winter found himself in as he joined Autex Acoustics®. Being one of the longest serving members in our North American team, we decided to sit down with him to learn more about his experience so far. Here is what he had to say:
What roles have you occupied during your time at Autex Acoustics?
I’ve been the Regional Sales Manager in the San Francisco Bay Area and Pacific Northwest my entire time at Autex Acoustics. I work closely with Architects and Designers as well as Distributors and Contractors to help specify our products for new builds and tenant improvement renovations.
What do you like about working at Autex Acoustics?
Every project is unique therefore every day is different. We help create concepts that impact the interior design of a building so it’s rewarding to see the final product installed and performing in the space. I also enjoy working with the talented people from within the organization, our partners, and the community as a whole.
What has been the biggest change you’ve witnessed over your career working at Autex Acoustics?
Autex Acoustics USA has experienced rapid growth over the past 5 years. The US team has increased from 3 to 30 people and the operation has expanded to include manufacturing and distribution from our facility in Riverside, California. This investment in infrastructure and people has resulted in faster lead times, greater quality control, and ultimately a better outcome for all.
What is your favorite memory over your Autex Acoustics career?
In my first 6 months at Autex Acoustics I worked on a large custom project that took weeks of planning with our team of experienced designers and engineers. The project went off without a hitch and the client was thrilled with the outcome. It was my first major proposal with Autex and it was an important and rewarding experience that gave me the confidence to work on bigger projects in the future.
What is the most important lesson you’ve learnt over your career at Autex Acoustics?
Ultimately, keep it simple and make it easy for people to do business with you because how you treat people matters most.
How do you see the acoustics industry developing over the next decade?
More and more businesses understand and pay attention to sound in the work place. Education institutions at all levels know the importance of controlling sound and making a space conducive to learning. As the industry continues to look for cleaner and greener materials, PET will continue to grow in the acoustics space. Architects and designers want to specify products that offer great value, diverse applications and beautiful aesthetics. With over 50 years of experience internationally, Autex Acoustics is in a strong position to be the industry leader for years to come.
